While elite units are given the best equipment, only standard gear is given to most infantry soldiers, including the 140 soldiers we’re looking to outfit. Therefore, they are wearing outdated helmets which are available in only one size, heavy, have no interior cushioning or simple ways to fasten flashlights or other attachments.

The helmets we’re purchasing are brand-new, available in different sizes, have internal padding and adjustable straps for precise fit, and built-in external connections for customizable accessories.

Vests
Standard issue vests are only meant to carry gun magazines and water bottles. In order to make it functional enough for the battlefield, the IDF provides an additional bullet-resistant underlayer. The doubling of these mismatched, bulky pieces causes an awkward fit, inhibiting a soldier’s abilities to maneuver effectively under fire. In addition to being unnecessarily heavy, putting on the two-layers consumes precious seconds in emergency situations.
The following 1.5 minute video demonstrates the upgraded version in which we are investing.
